Guaranteed Interview

What is ALMOST guarantee for getting called?
Meet the Chiefs event?
I am 28 and have all preferred qualifications except the 4000hr.
Thanks👍

Buy a north face jacket and include that in your resume

Me too when I was 28... I'm 32 now and have an interview coming up. hopefully you don't need 4 more years.

Go to a meet the chiefs and don’t be a tool or come off as fake and you’ll probably get a call.

I’m not necessarily sure about a “guarantee”, but I came from corporate. No 121 experience. But I did have almost 3000 hours jet time and over 1500 TPIC. I had one internal recommendation and got a call less than a week after I applied.

I had someone on the inside hustling pretty hard for me. 2 meet the chiefs. The second time round I was less nervous and they liked me more.

I got a call about 3 weeks after my second one and have a class date on the 11th.

Just keep trying. As far as I could tell, meet the chiefs was around the Thursday or Friday on the third week of every month. If you go to enough of them you'll get your call. I had 10 hours over the mins when I first applied.

After every meet the chiefs, just email the email back and ask to be put in the list for the next one. That was my approach.

I think even these days they are interviewing at the event if they like you enough.

I got invited to a MTC event coming up and have one internal letter of recommendation! I only have 2600 TT but 1250 TPIC at a skydive operation. Also just upgrade at my current airline, what are my chances? I know I have low TT but just checking my chances. Four year degree as well!

Yeah I figured just did not want to frustrate them by not having there minimums and hurt my chances!

Flightcap 10-26-2019 09:06 AM

They know how much TT you have right? The fact you got the invite anyway means they are willing to consider you. I'd go into it with the mentality that you have every chance at getting the job. If you instead find that they aren't interested because of your low TT you can shift to a message of "I know my TT is low but this is a great networking opportunity and I really do want to work for Spirit as soon as my experience meets your minimums." You at least then have a chance to make a good impression and make getting a future interview easier.

I wouldn’t look at it that way.

This and most airlines are a meat grinder when it comes to accepting and processing applications. Resumes of all kinds stack up, are sorted and reviewed, and occasionally purged. It’s data collection, no one is questioning if you as an individual have the right to be applying.

There’s no magic formula or numbers in your log book that guarantees success in hiring. The name of the game is getting the chance to turn your resume into a living breathing person, to be more than the sum of hours.

Never talk yourself out of applying, don’t take it personally if you do not get a response. Update regularly, and if you feel your resume is on the lower side of experience, that’s an even more compelling reason to get some face time at a meet the chiefs event.

Per the director of standards, a recent interview of 30 had a high time of 3300 hours.

We would rather have someone here that wants to be here than someone who just meets the mins and doesn't want to be at their regional.

Just please come and support the group at reaching for fair industry pay and retirement.

Wow, that’s a huge chance from a few months ago. Everyone in my class had upwards of 4,000hrs with the highest time of around 8,000.

I would imagine, with the near continuous hiring now, (with the announcement) it will creep down again.
