BWI crew base
Hearing from other pilot's as well as supervisors BWI is the next crew base, planning on opening within 2020. Any thoughts? Would they close ACY as a FA base and maybe keep it as a satellite base for pilot's?

Regardless of where the next base is I hope they learned something from the Orlando fiasco. Namely to actually hire extra people for every base before you do it so we dont end up with depleted bases where there is nobody left to pick up the phone. I can think of plenty of people off the top of my head that would leave DTW for BWI.
Cant complain about all the extra paid flying, though. That was a mess.

ACY has nothing to do with a crew base coming to BWI. We also have FFL and MCO very close and both have a crew base. As long as we keep pulling folks out of ACY I don't see ACY going anywhere soon. I've seen 10 airplanes in an over night status most recently at BWI. BWI is now the size of MCO. I'd bet a crew base is coming. With all the hiring we'll have somewhere to dump the new hires!! Plus SLC is coming soon!

When I started a few weeks ago the VP of flight ops (I think, or some similar high up person) confirmed to my class that there will be a new northeast base next year and explicitly said BWI or making ACY a co-base with PHL.

He said the same thing almost verbatim in my initial new hire class in 2014. He also said we would have a base in a west coast city that started with the letter S. For what it's worth.
