Crew room accommodations
Just curious what the crew rooms are like at various accommodations. I’m interviewing soon and couldn’t be more excited. By no means is this a deal breaker but I’m at a regional now and the CRs suck. Sticky leather couches, peeling recliners and 24/7 fluorescent light and absolutely no overnights.
I have some friends at legacy carriers and they tell me about really great rooms some with gyms and far / quiet spaces specifically for sleeping and showers and the like (Delta DTW). Is it possible to RON in a crew room 1-3 times per month if needed while commuting? DTW or ORD are my preferences. I’m commuting from north east wisconsin area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’d say our rooms are on par with most regionals. However I can’t tell ya the last time I actually stepped foot in one.

eh not really at my previous regional (xjt) crew rooms were inside of security (what a concept), our crew rooms are outside of security, not very convenient when it comes to rest and relax.

Some of our crew rooms are inside of security as well. There's a document called "Crew Room Guide" in your Comply with the locations.

of our 7 bases at least 3 of them are outside security. it's almost like they don't want us to actually use them
|
First step to better crew rooms is giving the FAs their own and us ours. I don’t see that happening any time soon.
And to the OP: This isn’t a regional. You don’t overnight in the crew room. Pony up for the hotel. |

It seems like a good amount of them use the crew room as a crash pad. I've used them a couple times for RON but they suck. Unless you're getting in after midnight and trying to catch a 5 am flight home, I'd say just get a hotel or crash pad. Hotels are pricey but DTW has a lot of great commuter hotels. I use to use the Clarion all the time....I think it was $50 out the door and $5 extra for a 5 pm checkout that they would roll into the next night if you ended up staying the night again. Free breakfast too. This hotel made commuting to reserve somewhat doable.. |

No it’s not a troll post. Sorry it’s funny. I’m just wondering man. My company specifically prohibits overnight accommodations. Very frustrating when you’re only crashing 5 or 6 hours before the early flight out.
Sounds like other carriers legacy’s specifically allow and provide for that sort of thing. If spirit doesn’t it’s not worries just trying to get a feel for that type of thing. They don’t put that stuff on the recruiting poster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You cant blame everything on first year pay. “I’m on first year pay” isn’t a get out of jail card for all things. “You didn’t tip the van driver” ”I’m on first year pay” ”You are wearing a NorthFace as your uniform” ”I’m on first year pay” ”You slept in the crew room and use it as a hotel” ”I’m on first year pay” And the same guy will spend $25 on an airport dinner during the trip, seen it before. |

In ORD by terminal 2 there’s that children’s play area, you can sleep in the airplane at night.
In FLL there’s behind the counter at Pei Wei where the employees like to sleep. Go to the Delta terminal in DTW by the end of the B Gates and there too I think are nice sofas you can chill out at. LAS just grab your busted duffle bag of clothes and lay wherever you want. DFW you can sleep on the train. MCO once again go to the Delta terminal, grab a bloomin onion from the Outback and sleep soundly on the nice couches in the centerpoint. Theres some bushes by the terminal in ACY you can sleep in but be prepared to be joined by three other people. |

question: I have considered getting this. for a Chase priority pass don’t you also have to show a outbound ticket? I guess if I had to I could just list me on some random flight. Also, is there any other card with lounge benifits that anyone would recommend?
https://thepointsguy.com/guide/all-a...-pass-program/ Centurion lounge access is also fantastic and has great food if you want to pony up for one of their cards. https://thecenturionlounge.com/info/access/ However, it seems that a lot of these lounges require you to have a confirmed seat on your boarding pass (standby doesn't always work, maybe others can chime in for specific lounges that let you in without an assigned seat), so just listing for a flight won't cut it. The good news is, most of the time your access is good for the day, meaning you can go into a lounge after you land, not just before. Helpful in places like LAS where you'll likely commute in a bit before the redeye departures. |

Chase credit cards don't exclusively provide Priority Pass access. It's just a benefit of some of their premium cards, and other credit card companies offer this same benefit as well.

It’s nice when you have a confirmed deadhead but bring a pullover because crew isn’t allowed in most of them and the crowds are insane these days. |
almost as if you aren't the only traveler who thought getting a chase sapphire card was a good idea?

Nobody said others can’t go to the club, but the fact they are crowded and before you spend $550 for an AMEX platinum, realize the rules of what’s going on at these lounges. |

I've always been asked for a confirmed boarding pass for priority club and centurion lounge entrance.

You dare to suggest some of the posts on APC are less than helpful, incorrect, or a waste of time? I thought info here was the gold standard? Guess I'll have to start getting it on a WhatsApp chat instead.

At DFW there are the family restrooms that have benches in all the terminal inside and outside of security, so in theory you can find any empty one, and lock the door and then turn out the lights and use the bench as a temporary sleeping bench. They've also got outlets so you can charge all of your devices to your hearts content. The ones upstairs near D18 are relatively untrafficked so you can spend the whole day in there without getting bothered.
Serious or not, spending the night in a bathroom? We really are "living the dream." |
