F9 new crew bases at MIA, and EWR

Frontier just announced yet again another crew base at EWR, just shortly after their announcement of MIA, 2 in 1 year! Where is Spirit at with their new base announcements? Thought this was all about competition?

Slow news day for you? I award you no points for this thread

Frontier is essentially going to turn into allegiant with tons of bases and doing mostly day trips out of each base. They alluded to this when I interviewed there last year.

Who gives a ****. Spirit is making the right moves. They can announce the new base if it ever happens whenever it happens.

Ewr is only an FA base, not pilot.

It is about competition...but Spirit wants to complete with F9 and F9 wants to compete with American and United. I’m an F9 guy and I like our strategy; we both (F9 and NK) gain market share for now then we can merge them all together the next time the economy tanks.

F9 and NK’s business/strategy models are very different.

I was about to say the same thing. They still only fly 2-3 days a week to one destination out of my home airport. There seems to be quite a few cities with infrequent/Allegiant style service.
