Anyone going to be there for the interview on Tuesday and want to meet up?

They said they’ll reach out within a week. Unfortunately, today marks a week and still nothing.

I heard one person may have heard back, but otherwise I don’t know if anyone has heard a peep.
Hoping to get hired into a pool and start class after this blows over.

do you mean

"You are / are not hired"

or "You are hired and we want you in class on XXXX date"

He means anything that’s why he said “anything”

Any idea if it was good or bad news for this individual? I’m holding onto the hope of not hearing anything being good news. If they didn’t want you, it would be a relatively quick “Thanks but no thanks” right? ...right? 😥

He said he got an offer. I think for May. Yea I’m still hoping that no news is good news

I was told I would be hired into the pool, and once they started up classes again they would call. I guess that’s prob best case scenario, to ride this out at my current job and see what plays out.

Offered a spot in the pool... got the call yesterday. Look forward to seeing you guys in class when all this passes

Congrats man! Did they give any possible indication when they think that might be?

They told me they had absolutely no clue....maybe they mentioned it to the others.

said the same thing to me... they mentioned that the 3/10 interviews going to be first group in the pool to be called back

Even without a global pandemic affecting both travel and the economy, hiring and training tends to slow down a bit in the summer here.

April/May have been outlined, barring any further catastrophe my money would have us coasting through June/July and then stepping up hiring again Aug/Sept to prepare for the holiday season and cover this year’s deliveries.

There is no way in hell any airline will be hiring this fall. This fall will be when all the back room agreements with congress not to furlough for 4 to 6 months expires. And they won’t get a second bailout.

Stepping up hiring in Aug/Sept? Are you talking about 2021 or 2022? Seriously... I’d be pleasantly surprised if we complete recalls by 3rd QTR. I understand it’s important to stay calm and optimistic, but things won’t be the same after this world pandemic. A deep recession it’s upon us. Many what ifs will needed to be answered before being able to paint a picture for our short/medium term future.
I’m a true believer in our business model, which I think it’ll be the most resilient one by far. But first, we need to survive financially to be able to growth again. Consolidation? Yeah, totally an option. It’s funny how people on these forums pretend they can predict what F9 and Franke will do. We’ve entered a new dimension here. China just had a 56-day lockdown and we’re still pretending it’s a seasonal flu. Regardless of what the truth is about this virus, people are canceling their travel plans and business are shutting down. Just think about that waitress in CA that was thinking about visiting friends in FLL this summer. Do you think she’ll recover financially by summer? Heck no.
Airlines4America are stepping up their tones (yeah no kidding). The situation is dire and we’re still **** around with (20-25%) cuts. Even if we manage with only a 50% capacity reduction for 3-5 months, you’d think they’ll keep all of us around? For NK it’s way easier to furlough than the big 3. Even if it’s a short one. Don’t forget that.

Your guess is just as good as anyone else. I agree that people will be out of a job, not just the airline industry. Look at why every plane is almost empty, Disney is close, cruise ships stopped sailing and Vegas stopped dealing cards. Business travelers are told to work from home. For $20 one way ticket, it still doesn’t stop some people from flying. Once things are opened back up, I think you’ll see the amount of people who wants to travel go up quickly. Some business will fail, I just hope all of this will pass and people will go back to their normal lives ASAP. IMO

No doubt the future it’s impossible to predict. The difference is, a good number of our pilots fail to understand basic concepts of our industry. I’d be more than happy to be wrong. Believe me, I’m not shorting SAVE. Once people start flying again, the biggest challenge will be the dilution of yields thanks to overcapacity. What will the big 3 do with the bailout money? Part of that money could be used to flood the market with cheap seats to fight back LCCs. Again, not a prediction but a possibility. Even if they do, on the long wrong will win that fight, but it’s important to understand that there will be blood. I have my money on NK.

A year from now? How about 3-4 weeks ago when the majority of NK’s forums were filled with “nahhh it won’t affect us, we don’t fly to China”
