It ran well once you figured out how to get in but if you were expecting to click the link at the start of the program, well that was a project. Missed the beginning, got in when they got to the part where we can have creative masks.

Main takeaway is they sounded like they were planning on changing schedules to meet the cares act requirements.

I guess on an Apple product... getting into a Microsoft program was hard. However, if you used a different browser, or different hardware, it was easy. Click the link, enter your password... simple.
Apple is a hardware company, they don't want **** to be cross platform compatible. Then you would be able to use their software on hardware that is outside of their walled garden. I like Apple products, but they've created a world of people who can't function technically beyond a product that starts without the letter i. They do privacy right though, since their profit comes from hardware sales. Instead of giving free software in exchange for your data. And their hardware lasts a long time. But they really have created a generation of tech idiots. |

I agree that was the biggest take away. Also, reading between the lines, absent a astronomical recovery in demand, furloughs will be announced around Oct 1.
|
I took it as we are holding our own and want to be in a position to grab market share and other opportunities if demand comes back. Obviously if demand doesn’t start to come back after 6 months or so they will have to look at other options. Some people just see the negative though.

All I did was AirDrop the link from the company iPad to my Macbook and started watching. It took longer to pour the whiskey.

I think the problem was getting a link in an email that says watch the livestream here at 6/5 central and then clicking the link at 6/5 central and finding out that no, just clicking the link will not bring up the stream. It took only a few minutes to get it straightened out but it caused myself a quite a few others to miss out on whatever it was we missed out on.

Did you listen to the presentation? There was a lot of CEO speak. Other than the beard. Grant money=no furloughs. Past Sept 30 is still in the air. We're pushing back airframe deliveries. We're cancelling WiFi, cabin interiors, FTD's, laid off airport crew, possibly cancelling BNA, possible cancelling new OCC, but yes, let me tell you how rosy it is and how Spirit will keep paying pilots with 10% of our passenger demand. The airline, hell the industry, is in survival mode. Grant money buys time to try to figure out the who, what, when, and where. If we get a positive response from treasure then we have paychecks until Sept 30. Past that a lot few of us will have paychecks as we adjust to the new reality.

So they said we are:
pushing back deliveries? not moving OCC from Miramar to Nashville? we are cancelling wifi altogether? no more interior refresh on current planes? cancelling construction of new HQ in FLL? |

That had to be one of the most relaxed crisis town hall meetings I’ve seen in my 36 years of getting paid to fly airplanes!
My take away is Spirit will be ready to gain new assets, meet the flying demand when it hopefully returns mid summer and the next steps will be contingent on getting the grant money. |

I too, was surprised at the lightheartedness of the town hall. Teddy joking about his beard and playing songs at the end. They all must know something other than what we hear from the media...??? |

Having said this, I do appreciate how laidback our company is, all the way up to Ted. I did like to see a clear tone of confidence and not cockiness. We’ll find out about the government grant at the beginning of next week. |

There was nothing new to say. The questions were really goofy, except from those FOs with straight ones (thanks), so like good politicians, they adapted and played along to keep the crowd cheering. We wouldn’t expect a statement like “if we don’t take the government money, half of you are gone next month”.
