It didn’t say we were for sure, it said they “expect” to take it, which is encouraging but not concrete.

Talking with Schwab we were one of the first to implement that provision.

No, he means the actual loan available to airlines as part of the act.

There is no false parallel, and kindly stow your “yay team” BS.

You have one country that literally locked people in their own apartment complexes, and has a government and populace that are willing to use and often accept totalitarian government actions. Screw up over there and you disappear like that researcher from the Wuhan virology lab.

We closed gyms, bars and limited restaurants to take out while recommending people don’t travel unnecessarily. It’s a world of difference that you don’t appreciate.

China has a huge GDP because the rest of the world has farmed out their supply chains to the Middle Kingdom. Can you think of anything going on right now that might be hampering that? They are not a consumer society in the sense that we are. Take away the rest of the world’s demand for their cheaply made widgets, and their GDP is pitiful for a population as large as theirs. Sure, they’ve got malls and huge cities that most westerners can’t begin to name. But they won’t get their economy moving until the rest of the world gets moving itself.

well you finally got to the point though thanks for the lesson on China. Yes they will not get going until other economies as well start moving. That moving though is not to be at the expense of lives. If you are one of the people who think its better to lose a life, yours mine or someone else's to move the market thats on you. If you think that its not up to what you think should happen but when modern medicine says its ok to go outside again then your probably on the right track.

I haven’t argued either way other than what I think will happen, which is restrictions, rightly or wrongly, being lifted soon. I don’t believe either extreme is correct.

And you received the lesson on China because you tried to use their lack of economic recovery to justify your belief that the US economy’s recovery will be just as tepid. I don’t believe in the hockey stick per se, but I do understand that China’s economy will recover when ours, and the rest of the world’s economy for that matter, does. Because demand drives manufacturing and not the other way around.

I don't know why anyone is worried about furloughs. It's clear from this thread (and most on APC), that even if that happens, most posters can get a well paying job in virtually any field they want. Because clearly you are all experts on everything, not just flying.

Shouldn’t you be studying? Especially the furlough section of the CBA.

Actually IPAs, and craft beer in general are about the only good American beers. In my non expert opinion.

Now back to the original thread topic?

Ah the one thing I don’t miss about working. Watching you guys ask about the hops in ipa’s and having the waitress bring you samples of beers...

so so true. You’d think they were ordering a $400 bottle of French wine.

My IPA operation is ramping up and will be at full capacity soon. Great time to grow is during a Pandemic.

TRUTH!!

Followed by me asking the server if they have something like Miller lite and getting a smug look from the beer snobs.

Thanks, I’ll have an iced tea.

SAABoroowski 04-18-2020 07:16 AM

Why not? If interest from the US gov is lower than the interest they were going to have to pay for financing part of that 100 plane order of NEOs, Spirit would be insane to not take the lower rate loans.

The financing rates are certainly very nice. How long is the standard airliner financed for? Because it’s my understanding that the government loan has to paid back in 10 years.

I guess you take out a different loan to cover the portion not repaid at the end of the term?

Not to be anti union or anything but I find the TAJ grievances to be a little distasteful. We are all going through some crap, the company obviously had to cut flights and we respond with group grievances because every single pilot was not contacted properly? Everyone knows we are all time available this month, it's common sense. I understand always wanting to uphold the contract but these grievances look bad right now and could be addressed later. We are technically right in doing so but I just find it to be at the wrong time with everything going on. The Union wants to be strong but these recent grievances emails annoy me.

Qotsaautopilot 04-21-2020 09:33 PM

Edit your post and take it up with your reps not here
