The US has a population of 328.2 million people. 71,000 new cases is such a small number my calculator can't put that many zeros before the percentage. But even the US skewed death count of 136,000 as of today, that is a .000414% chance of dying from COVID-19. Percentage of infected .00987% The odds of even getting infected are very low and the odds of dying are even lower. We shut down the economy for this? The death rate is decreasing. 2.8M people died in the US in 2018 from all causes. Try having some perspective. If that low percentages are too scary for you then stay in a bubble, it is your choice. But for left leaning governors to start telling us who should be open, who must wear face masks, and having dictatorship type power for however long COVID stays around is absurd. PS How sad that the top running democrat is allowed to continue with obvious dementia. |
