Internal Recommendations
Bottom line up front: what weight do internal recommendations have at Spirit?
Obviously they have value, but how has Spirit historically looked at internal recs? At some airlines, they trigger app reviews, at others, they are essentially silver bullets that guarantee getting moved to the interview stack, etc. Obviously quality matters over quantity, but quantity sure helps, too. On the note of quantity, has there historically been a certain number of internal recs that they’re looking for?
In light of there not being any hiring events, job fairs, or Meet the Chiefs events in nearly a year, I highly suspect pre-COVID interest and/or internal recommendations are going to be key going forward.

Me personally, when I applied I heard nothing. Had a friend. working here send Sandi my "stuff," received the packet the next day. Granted this was a while ago but I still think internal recommendations are huge. This isnt a legacy carrier that weighs GPA, volunteer work, WIA awards, etc. What has made the pilot group so great is they have always used referrals as a major hiring tool.
