2021 F.O. Job Requisition: Invite or TBNT

I’ve talked to a lot of guys & gals that applied for the latest First Officer job opening and the general consensus from my network is that nobody has gotten interview invites... yet. There have been some, however, that have already gotten ‘thanks but no thanks’ emails — so they are going through the mile high stack of applications. The only people with class dates (and perhaps interviews?) are people with pre-COVID CJOs (and possibly canceled interviews). Otherwise, it seems to be radio silence as of so far.

Anyway, I wanted to do some intel gathering and help the greater collective of curious minds to see who, if anyone, who applied to the latest job vacancy and got a interview invite. Hopefully some of you have had some positive news!

Seeing the same. Any common thread on the TBNTs?

It is my understanding that they are working through the pre-COVID cjo’s and than the canceled interviews. I would assume, although it is just speculation, that they will get to all the new applications once they complete that batch.

Former Co work/student of mine had an interview that never happen. He finally received an invite for a interview again. I don’t know if this helps, but he did have an interview that was scheduled previously in May of 2020 that canceled.

This, doubt they’ll get to new interviews until the summer/fall.

Honestly I applaud them for taking this route. Shows their way of thinking and taking care of the applicants that showed interest before the **** hit the fan.

I recently was offered a job. I was getting everything underway last January and by March had already done the MTC and then because of covid did a phone interview which led to a in-person interview that was cancelled. It’s been 2 weeks since I started the process back up again after receiving the email to do a virtual interview. They positive space flew me to FLL for a logbook review and then a background check. Just waiting on the email for my class date. It will most likely be May. Very excited to join Spirit!

This, word for word, is the experience I heard about as well.

Congrats and welcome aboard

I’m slated to start May 10th. Anyone else in that class?

This was my exact experience as well. I was offered an April class date and can’t be more excited.

I was in the same situation. As of today, my status still showing under review and hopefully I will hear from them soon.

Back in the day this was a good sign. The longer you go without a TBNT email the better.

What hotel are new hires staying at?

Usually not a great idea to be posting hotel information on a public forum. As for the training it is in FLL. There have been rumors of some training taking place in LAS but that seems to be up in the air right now, perhaps class dependent.

pilotled 03-09-2021 09:33 AM

Thanks .

It's a newly renovated full service hotel. There's a publix if you walk thru a garage, a parking lot, cut thru a row of hedges, and cross an intersection. Two vans to run places and it should still have laundry on site for New Hires. The gym is bigger now too. If you're looking to work here I'm sure your research will lead to the answers you're seeking.

pilotled 03-09-2021 03:45 PM

newly renovated hotel sounds awesome and Publix is all that you need. You can always take Uber if you want to visit another store once a week. Thank you

TrojanCMH 03-09-2021 04:11 PM

Sounds like the FLL short stay minus the “newly renovated” part.
