Interview
All,
Virtual interview is coming up and wanted to see if there is any extra intel I can get beforehand. I feel privileged to even get the interview considering there are several thousand applications and 200ish spots...
I've used aviation interviews for prep but it seems almost exclusively HR questions. I assume if they give you an interview they know you can fly (3 type ratings and 8600TT) so what kind of technical may they ask? Obviously that's almost an impossible question to answer...
Any information is greatly appreciated!

I got asked regs, memory items and limitations about my current plane (and there's no way they could have known if I was truthful). Lots of HR type questions and the one and only one that matters... "why Spirit?" Oh and through the entire onboarding process, DON'T LIE!!! Welcome aboard and I hope you like Detroit!

First of all, welcome here! I can say that the job is now yours to lose. If you were in a group interview you would be sitting in the room with your future classmates. Aviationinterviews has the best gouge you could prep for. It's possible the format could be changing though... so YMMV.

like everyone else has said.... The main question is why SPIRIT? I think my answer was pretty compelling because I just told the truth about how and why my wife and I arrived at the decision that Spirit was the best move for us and our family in the long term and focused on nothing else but that job.

I will give a good review once I complete the interview. After speaking with S it looks like late May to mid June will be the next round of classes. I am already preparing the wife for moving to Detroit or Florida ...

They are also typically making sure you can pass training (shorter footprint than most Airbus operators) and if you’d be a good person to fly with for 4 days. But, like others have said it’s pretty laidback and the job is yours to lose at this point. Best of luck!

I was notified (current Spirit pilots) about an hour after the window opened in February and had my application in that evening. My only guess is they went through the candidates from last year and are just now getting to the new applications.

Good luck with the interview! Like someone else eluded, if they are interviewing you, they want you, it’s just up to you not to give them a reason to change their mind.
