Rudder actuator went bad happens more then you would think. Totally uneventful MOC requested a return to FLL

indeed.

Something more impressive. Looks like an AA pilot got to experience a true V1 cut. Sounds like it happened just as they were about to rotate. But then again, who knows how accurate this article is.

Why would they overfly both Homestead and Miami with a rudder flight control problem? I am curious if the press got the story correct. That’s generally a land at the nearest suitable airport type of situation.

Small vibration was felt that goes away with the AP selected off and the re trimming of the Rudder. Had the same issue a year ago myself. Also spoke with the crew on that flight and they expressed the same experience.
