Instead of telling you what not/to do, I'll share my experience.

At F9, I push all my flying to one end of the month or the other, sometimes all my days off to the center, depending on my wife's schedule. I don't usually group both ends together and have two months' flying back to back and two months' days-off lumped together. But, it can be done. Remember you may have to fight 117 limits when you do that. I do when I try to pick up extra flying.

OK, I'll tell you what to do.... I say come here and put your toes in the water and see if you like. Worst case, you go back home for good and try something new. Maybe you decide to stay here, or maybe you find the trans-Pac commuting misery worth it.

We have a few international pilots (Mexico, Central American) doing those fdo lines I mentioned. 12 off 18 on. Stacked together you can do 24 off at a time. The 18 on start with long call but that wouldn’t help from Australia. They also tend to go a bit senior.

Parking out of Base

Hello Everyone,
Can anyone speak to parking benefits for out of base for commuters? Does Spirit offer any reimbursement or cover parking for commuters? Thanks in advance.

Essentially paid parking in your base of choice. For example, you live in DFW but commute to LAS, you can pick one or the other.

No reimbursement for commuters for out of base parking.

Paid parking in a domicile also needs to be put in to context. It’s paid for in the employee lot. Most of them are far except for ACY. Riding the bus is long hours and days of your life wasted. It’s like a refugee bus to hell. Many just pay to park in long term garages to avoid the busses. I’d gladly go to some sort of garage reimbursement.

this is an ULTRA LOW cost carrier. ZERO benefits for parking out of base. Honestly if you are asking about paid parking for commuters you probably don’t understand a ULCC. Low tier pilots low tier pay and benefits.

paid parking out of base hahah. Go to united dude

spirit or frontier will never ever do this. Wish list item
for a ULCC.

Just make a base pass thru ORD to get the airport employee designation on your ventra transit account, then get a base parking pass from whatever base of your choice and commute from a city where it’s free to park, like Latrobe or Columbia. This is the way of a cheap pilot.

At Frontier you can elect a monthly stipend instead of employee parking in your domicile. Can’t remember the exact amount 36 or 42$.

F9 LAS parking is the shizzz. Terminal 3 garage, walk across the bridge, KCM and an E gate if you’re lucky. If not, it’s a short train to D gates. The only parking good deal at F9.
