I do think JB wants to grow EWR as much as possible. It isn’t slot controlled, but it is a Level 2 airport, which requires coordination with the FAA

JB has a large amount of gates coming their way when Terminal 1 opens. This is a critical part of their NYC focus and will fight to get as much growth as possible there.

Note that EWR is already at the FAA-defined maximum (last sentence in the article)

Well, the good thing is that as long as they don't gate hold you, you'll get paid to sit in the huge conga lines that EWR is famous for. The bad thing is that if they gate hold you, you won't be getting paid to sit in the EWR airport waiting for an EDCT.

If Spirit decides to reject JetBlue and go with frontier then Spirit pilots can look forward to boarding and deplaning at a brand new DEN terminal with no jet bridges.

Do we forget about L11 at ORD and the switch ramp that required passengers to also walk up and down two flights of stairs from the terminal?
The canopy on it looked like it was a movie prop from Twister.

IAH has that lovely one now too. Air stairs to get down and then a nice set of stairs for you to drag your bags up. Welcome to Houston!

We also briefly used an air-stair (mobile ramp thingy) in Denver about 5ish years ago.
