Is this really a base? If so would it survive JB or F9 merger?

My opinion, but if it is open at the time of a JB acquisition (ATL specifically), I think it stays.

We have a vacancy open now for it with an effective date of September 1st.

It’ll happen this time. They didn’t realize how much it was gonna cost them to downsize other bases. They’ll let it happen naturally.

It is not base at this time. There are currently plans to open a base in September, but keep in mind in there were also plans to open one in July and those plans were yanked overnight after the initial bid was awarded.
