FC View or CrewLine

F’in new guy here. Do most folks use FCView or CrewLine? Any arguments for one versus the other?

I’d guess most people us FCView, mainly because it’s the OG. It works for me and is $1mo.

CAirBear 07-14-2022 11:07 AM

FCView is a great app.

BeatNavy 07-14-2022 11:36 AM

Do the trial of both and see what you like. FCview has a longer trial period I think. I liked some things better with crewline, but I ultimately stuck with FCview.

NK Bumble Bee 07-14-2022 11:38 AM

I happily use FCView. I saw a post in one of our pilot chats that crewline is no longer able to pull opentime because of a protection flica put in to prevent bots, which I understood to be the only feature that made crewline standout.

As of one second ago, that feature is working just fine now.

this is incorrect. Crewline works just fine with all functions.

Your are a major airline pilot. Buy both and AVIcrew as well.

Exactly. We are Major airline pilots. The fact that Spirit doesn't provide an app or some kind of internal system is pathetic.

We shouldn't need to purchase anything.

foxtroutuniform 07-14-2022 03:28 PM

What is the point of these apps? Can’t you log in on a website and do/see what you need?

Managing your schedule, open time trips, checking in for trips, etc.... There are a handful of different apps for all of this.

You'll quickly come to see that this is norm here. Pretty fun.

Good to know. As advertised, second hand info. Thanks

Haha. Internal Spirit system. Can you imagine how bad any Spirit internal system would be? Like their ghetto new texting number for calling in sick?

Would you prefer to go back to sitting on hold for 2 hours just to call in sick?

That new self-service bot doesn’t work well? I’m honestly curious…haven’t had a chance to use it yet.

PleaseComplete 07-14-2022 05:43 PM

They do have an internal app - ELP. And chat bot works easy peasy lemon squeezy *shrug*

Like our reserve pilots have to do at the end of their assignment because we don’t have automated release?
Bottom line, our IT is laughable.

whairdidhugo 07-14-2022 06:47 PM

Wow. Almost 4 years here and never even heard of Crewline or AVIcrew. What's the lowdown on those two?

As for the company bot, it is an absolute dream to call in sick. All it does is basically connect you with scheduling via text...literally a few minutes and done. It is a bit lame on the calling well part. Tried that once and it responded I needed to call scheduling. Umm...no thanks...not that motivated to get back to work.

Cyio 07-15-2022 04:44 AM

I actually use both.

FCview just because more people use it and I am able to see who I am working with easier. However its main feature I keep it for is the 30 update look back. You can go and see how your schedule changed over the last 30 updates, which is very useful when **** hits the fan.

Crewline I use mainly for the ability to swap/drop/add trips and see potential X list trips I might get a call on.

If someone would just combine the two it would be awesome but in all honesty, I have no issue with either and enjoy them both.

Ghetto? That bot works great, and you're not sitting on hold for eternity just to call in sick.

Plus you don't have to talk to a judgy scheduler.

It’s ghetto AF. You can do 4 things in it

1)Call in sick (that’s useful)
2) record locator (already posted in other places)
3) Update Contact info (how does this help us?)
4) Flight Status (pretty sure we all have internet to check flight status)

So basically it’s a text for calling in sick. So yes, it’s ghetto because of what it barely does, the stuff it does 2-3, it’s a joke, and still haven’t turned on reserve checkout.

How about they get rid of “update contact info” and replace it with “Do I have a hotel confirmed for my reserve assignment?”

Or the Call in Well that they removed because it was too advanced for them to implement. Calling in Well is one of the best secrets on the CA side with our abundance of reserve coverage and an easy way to get sick time back.

In the 10+ years I’ve been here, I’ve never had a scheduler be “judgy” to me when calling in sick. They are highly professional and even hope “I feel better”. It isn’t like you need to fake a sore throat with them, they have been great every sick call I’ve ever made (and I make a bunch)

I can agree with this as well.

same. With multiple little ones, my sick bank stays at 5 hours lol. They always offer well wishes and never have said anything remotely stupid to me
