Just your typical ratchet behavior over at the yellow and black gates. It’s funny how the gal waited until some other guy got in front to deescalate the confrontation to throw a sucker punch then immediately ran after she realized the guy she just assaulted was about that life.

Gawd I can't wait for the trash bag crowd to have only one choice of airlines they can afford. Just 3-5 more years, maybe. 🤣

Karen gets to taste the carpet.
The dude working for a subcontractor making minimum wage.

Margaritaville 08-14-2022 07:33 AM

I scratch my head why spirit seems to have so many more of these incidents than the other ULCCs. I don't think anyone would say that allegiant or Frontier passengers are any classier and the fares are all about the same, so all three are competing with the greyhound, yet Spirit seems to lead the industry in these incidents. Some psychologists should do a study on this. Might solve a lot of problems in the industry if they could isolate the cause.

I want to see the raw video for the Live PD moment when the DFW cops show up and give the dude a smackdown. It's never okay to hit a woman. Even if she's an irate ratchet who sucker punched you. A smarter person would have held their cool and laughed in her face as they took her to jail, but instead he lost it and he gets to go.

TiredSoul 08-14-2022 07:37 AM

When you make the ticket prices as low as greyhound bus fares then you attract people that should probably just stick to taking the bus.
Wealthier people are generally too scared to fight.

Spirit flies to Philly, Allegiant flies to Allentown
Spirit flies to ATL, Allegiant flies to HiltonHead
Spirit flies to Detroit, Allegiant flies to Flint

See a pattern that might explain some of this? Much higher ratchet factor I would bet.

And in the end, its because Spirit has become synonymous with "trash passengers," and that label will never go away. And no matter what happens on a Frontier or Allegiant flight, it will never have the same ring as "incident on Spirit flight".

Dont worry, once the Spirit name is gone and the favorite punching bag for late night hosts is gone, someone else will take that spot. Allegiant is too small for anyone to even register the name, Frontier is up next!

I'd argue that Allentown, Savannah, and Flint are just as ghetto as their major city counterparts. Have you ever actually spent time in these places? I know people who have been mugged in broad daylight 2 blocks off Water St. in SAV, and quality time in the cities of Flint or Allentown could get you murdered.

Allegiant also flies to FLL, MYR, HOU, MDW, BNA, MSY, GPT, SFB (Orlando), RFD, BLV (East St. Louis), IND, CVG, SDF, PIT, LAS, LAX, OAK, GEG, PSC etc... none of them really garden spots. Major cities, ghettos, white trash bastions etc, but you don't see people duking it out at the gates.

I still don't get it. Either Spirit isn't training deescalation, their passengers are worse, or they just get more media attention.

You asked why Spirit has more incidents. I say it’s the amount of big city trash we fly and you counter with “have you ever been to Flint or Allentown! It’s worse”

Ok man, you win, Allegiant is 100% hood but it’s your de-escalation techniques. Nobody knows what the heIl an Allegiant is, that’s a big part of it.

You're missing my point. Is it intentional?

Allegiant flies to just as many major cities or their satellite airports. Our passengers are just as hood/trashy. Maybe more so.

But yeah, nobody knows who the hell allegiant is unless they've flown us. Everyone who has access to YouTube knows who spirit is and what they're known for, There's gotta be a reason. Maybe it's just that spirit is the largest of the three.

It will be interesting to see if this stops after the company becomes JetBlue.

That guy works (worked) for a third party vendor and not Spirit, so the company probably doesn't have any say in the de-escalation training techniques for "XYZ airport services"

FNGFO 08-14-2022 08:37 AM

Love the two of them standing belly to belly, hand behind their backs and talking ****** to each other like some overgrown roosters at the end. Good lord.

Hopefully the woman is charged. And some third party vendor has a video for how NOT to handle unruly customers in the future.

Probably the same reason people say “coke” when they want a carbonated drink in some parts of the country. The brand “coke” is synonymous with the drink type. Spirit is the “coke” of cheap flying and the incidents from it. Like I said, it’s the established punching bag and will continue to be because “Spirit” has that established connotation, no matter if the airline has issues or not from this point on, it’s funny because it’s Spirit. It’s not that complicated, they are an easy well known target that gets the laughs.

And to the big boy with his hands behind his back, sticking up for the woman who initiated assault and battery against the agent, what a joke. Such a tough guy, like she was an innocent.

Can we work body armor and tasers into the JCBA? We get our share on the B6 side but I just don’t see the stuff NK deals with in my 10 years wearing a blue shirt.

SonicFlyer 08-14-2022 08:44 AM

I suspect because the airports Allegiant flies into have a much lower stress and hassle factor whereas Spirit flies into some Class B airports. Also Allegiant is specifically for vacationers on a leisurely trip and designed that way. Spirit is again more like Greyhound.

That's my best guess to be honest.

Yeah, I can see that. While we do fly into some major airports, most of our passengers are vacation/leisure travelers while Spirit flies to the same places as the legacies and is meant to be a cheaper substitute. Maybe that just attracts a lower class customer, though SWA also does that and doesn't seem to have this problem. NK seems to have more passengers with garbage bags for suitcases in the gate house.

Again, it will be interesting to see how this plays out after the merger. Maybe Frontier will take that crown.

These types of Karens, which exist in all markets and from all backgrounds, aren’t just going to stop flying because they have to spend another $100 to ride another carrier.

Spirit may have concentrated them in a few markets, but videos like these happen on every airline. Even the luxury of mint didn’t stop a celebrity death match with Chad and the champ.

JulesWinfield 08-14-2022 09:55 AM

We definitely have more children on a leash than any other airline, that's for sure.

I couldn’t agree more. Can happen anywhere but happens with substantially more frequency here and so many more incidents that are very close to a fight.

I’m so burnt out on it

I have watched a couple of videos of people riding Greyhound. They describe people who ride it. This is in keeping with the character of many.

Some years back Spirit laid off their airport employees and replaced them with contractors.
You could interview to get your job back obviously at less then your previous pay.
May whomever came up with that burn in lost luggage purgatory.

Thank Bendo for that! Tripping over dollars to save pennies.

I've seen more of it, more often when I was flying 'Murican colors than I have at NK, hyperbole be hyperbole despite the facts as always
