Places to live near LAS

Is it possible to live within 1.5hrs from LAS and be somewhere with good schools, outdoor activities, and it’s not 100+ in summer?

Nope.

Extend your range to 2ish hours and that opens up Southern Utah as a possibility. St. George is exactly 2hrs from the airport. Meets everything but the 100+ degrees in the summer, it’s generally 5-7 degrees cooler here than Vegas.

2.5 hours puts you in the hills above St. George with your choice of 4000ft to 6500ft of elevation and plenty cool in the summer.

Yeah plenty of places.…. If you mean a 1.5 hour plane ride…

The issue will be finding someplace that’s not 100+ in the summer.

Fraser, Colorado. “America’s Icebox.”

That’s 700 plus miles away though.

Not really.

Anything 1.5 hours away will still be in the Mojave. So the same climate. Nevada public schools are not good. However, if you can swing it, the private schools are Great. The best bet is to live in vegas: low taxes and affordable real estate. Summers are hot, but it's only bad for about 3-4 months. Everything is air-conditioned. There are many things to do inside, and most parks have bright lights at night.

But it never has gotten over 100 F.

Colorado would be my first choice but I’d prefer to be able to drive to work and the schools in the mountains of Colorado seem to be pretty crappy from what I’ve found.

I have no clue what the schools are like but check out Mt. Charleston.
