FLL reserve times

Hey guys, does anyone have an idea of how long a new hire might expect to sit on reserve in FLL? Is there a way to check? If so please let me know. Thanks all.

wow that’s impressive. You held a line in FLL 3 months before you started.

I tell you what!!! Time are changing. People back in the day needed 6,000+ hours to get hired and years before they were off reserve and now they are line holders before they are even hired! this new generation of pilots have it made in the shade!

The guy who gets sand in his vag when he gets called out for grammar and blames it on a “talk to text” error sure is fast to jump on someone else for pressing a 2 instead of a 3 that are right next to each other….

Or the guy who talks about living in somebody’s head rent free.

yeah, I bet you didn’t see the irony there…

Oh jeez so I typo'd the year wrong? 6/2022 i just got a line. Keyboard warriors make an awful lot of assumptions, probably have more time, types and certs than you do all without a failure, but whatever "you win" you got ya number in before me. I was kindly putting a data point in for the noob. This is why I typically only lurk.

Don't worry about kid, he’s just salty. Congrats on getting a line, it’s a whole other job with the freedoms and flexibility that come with it. Just make sure you dial in your pref bids and grab all the premium time that comes your way during summer melt down season.

captEverthing,

you can calm down it was just a joke. RemoveB4Flight has this thing for me, he has actually gone to therapy before because of it. Yes it’s true!! you can actually DM him about it. He’ll tell you how I live in his vag rent free or something like that.

but if you cant handle the little soft jokes I throw at you then you won’t like CincoDeMayo, SpeedBrakes or IAH to CLE.

Thanks for the advice! It's fun being the FNG after so long honestly. Feels like entering into yet another career. People here real cool so far.

All is calm... it's entertaining, lurking watching the bickering at times. Like watching an old married couple go back and forth.

Oh no…It was me you hurt. It was the other people I have seen you argue with. It’s all entertaining. Sometimes I want to jump in on the action too but I decide I’ll just enjoy the show from afar.

If rsv is so bad why do we have 15-20yr pilots that bid for rsv every single month

rsv in base beats some terrible weekend line of low credit garbage any day and twice on Sunday.

Because reserve call out is based on seniority of the days available. Senior guys get to sit back while junior reserve guys stuck on reserve keep getting sent back out. I’ve bid reserve some months and junior CAs with the same RAP and days avail we’re blocking close to guarantee while I did 2 months of zero hours flown. As long as I have 4 days avail and they have 4 days avail with the same RAP, he is going on before me if he is under guarantee. “Keep sending him up”

So why do senior pilots bid reserve, because you won’t get used much at all.

It was rhetorical

Yes, clearly. I was adding to what you said, as to it being great for senior pilots to bid. We are in agreement.
