Who is responsible for cleaning the jetways?

Is it spirit or is it the airport? Our jetways look like absolute garbage dumps. Literal trash all over the place. What a disgusting embarrassment.

I’m guessing it’s Spirit then?

Great question for the next town hall. Maybe you can combine that question with when are we getting new uniforms

ADOPT-A-JETBRIDGE

This jetbridge (ATL gate D-2) is maintained by: Noisecanceller.

It’s just setting the standard for what the plane looks like. Crap in the jetway leads to crap in the jet, continuity.

Still time to get that application in at BigDog Legacy.

Now they’re crapping in the Galley? I thought it was just squatting to take a leak in there.

I understand it may be trivial considering the bigger issues but it’s disgusting and whether people think so or not it’s part of the reason for waning demand. Little things like that are big things to a lot of people and project and image. People decide not to come back and we are discovering there isn’t always more low hanging fruit to replace them.

Sometimes they will throw their feces like chimps.

I used to joke that the corporate motto was “Spirit Airlines, We got ya once!” The way you guys are talking maybe I wasn’t to far off base.

The condition of the jetbridge, and the airport as a whole, has more to do with the attitude of the people who run the place and less to do with Spirit. We just happen to fly to places within the US where it is culturally normative to trash the place (e.g. Baltimore, Atlanta, etc).

For instance if we dumped OAK in favor of SFO, you would notice a stark difference.

Im willing the bet the jetbridges in ATL at the DAL gates are not the same as the NK jetbridges in ATL.

But hey, im not complaining. Talk to the F9 guys who don't even have jetbridges at many of their locations. This is ULCC. Expecting a ULCC to have 2 gate agents for every flight, clean jetbridges, clean planes etc; its the same as a passenger of ours paying $20 and expects free food, checked bags, and a meal.

I don’t think dirty and unsanitary should be a condition of a lower cost product. There should be some minimum expectation and I think clean should be a pay of that.

Maybe not in ATL since they own the place, but I can tell you for a fact that in FLL they all look the same regardless of the airline. Heck the American E gates are some of the worst in that airport.

Honestly a lot of the non-fortress hub airports in the US just kinda suck in general, not that I am excusing Spirit from not properly cleaning the airplanes (whole different story there).

Go set foot in some of our international destination airports and the difference is night and day. Those people actually take pride in creating a classy experience for travelers.

Lets make it simple

People doing an act=costs money
Spirit/ULCC does not want to spend money
Deficiencies across the network continue.

You have been here long enough to know this company will not spend money on anything they dont think returns more money. They do not care about the product, only Bob seemed to care.
You can wish/expect all day that the company would do XYZ according to Noisecanceller, but at the end of the day, its about the money.

And in the end, I dont really care at this point anyways. House is on fire and we are talking about the dirty carpet upstairs and why little Timmy spilled juice on the rug. Approve the merger and fliush this product down the toilet like Pebbles the hamster back in 2018...Rest in Power, Pebbles

That I agree with...I will say its cultural and leave it at that, before the SJWs from the DAL forums come over when they see the bat signal illuminated, as there is injustive on the forums.

It's the cleaners

Just recently, I waited an hour to board an AA (regional) flight at ORD because a kid threw up in the jetway. The reason it took so long... nobody would come clean it. The cleaning company refused. When somebody from the cleaning company was finally forced to come out, he put paper towels over the puke and called it good. The Captain (who relayed the story to me in the JS) put his foot down at this half measure and good for him. The cleaner himself would not walk over his own work but expected the passengers to step / roll their bags over it.

My point? I don't think it has anything to do with Spirit. It's the same workers who half as$ clean the cabins, show up 20 minutes late with wheelchairs, etc. It's and Airport problem, not ours.

LAS is horrible in the older terminals and to be honest, I don't find DFW AA terminals all that great either. I think its just a general lack of give a **** after Covid.

IF Spirit and Frontier ever do end up together they need to make a stipulation that "Pebbles the Emotional Support Hamster" is to be emblazened on a Frontier Tail!
