You know what northdakota, I take it all back, YOU ARE RIGHT. I couldn't go back and edit my post. We don't give up anything, and get better pay rates. This company makes enough money to pay us what we deserve, it's making those huge profits off the backs of the pilot force. There is no need to give up anything.

Apparently ACY Is in fact "under an evaluation" whatever that means, lol. This too is from a legitimate source, lol.

Sounds horrible.

Here I thought a Northeast base would always make sense

How'd you know? You hit the nail on the head, no "Big 4" would hire me, but I'm okay with that now.

Many of us were on track to get on with the Big 6 at the time and then 911 happened combined with the age 65 rule; put our career progression on hold for well over a decade. Many of us decided to stay at our current place of employment, considering our age and relative seniority.

Then the unthinkable happens; the airline completely shuts down and we have to scramble to find a job to provide for our families. The only good airline hiring is Spirit at the time so here we are.

First of all, Spirit is a really great place to work so I don't think anyone has the right to put it down as some "less than a major airline". If everyone does their part, Spirit will be one of the "BIG 3" by the time I retire. That is if we don't merge and lose the name.

Lets not sell Spirit or the employees short. Some of the finest professionals are employed with Spirit.

But apparently there is in being a white country music-listening, beer-swilling, pickup-driving redneck. It's why I'll never get hired on anywhere else.

Right on! And I'm cool with that!

An ATL base would kick a$$, make my commute much easier. But, let's keep ACY, I don't want all those ACY senior guys clogging up ATL.

If you haven't read the latest ALPA magazine yet, and are looking for news about Spirit in it, I'll save you the time,
"Spirit--A Section 6 notice was filed on April 28, 2015. Negotiations are under way." That's it. Same amount of news on Spirit and its pilots as last month. Exactly the same.
