Don't come to this sh!t hole. I'm 40, a 10 year captain. I'm leaving to happily sit right seat at another major...save yourself some anguish.

Just curious. Why would anyone consider applying to Spirit now? First year pay is lower than what most senior RJ pilots make - right? Why would you want to work for your CEO onsidering his previous anti-pilot attitude at AirTran?

First year pay is not only lower than what a senior regional FO makes, it's also on par with what a first year regional FO makes hourly and is probably $10k-$20k short of what that new-hire RJ FO will make once their signing bonus is taken into account.

It's half of what 1st year Regional FO's are making. I made $29,900 my first year at Spirit, while 1st year Regional First Officers are making $60,000+.

A real indication of discontent would be junior Spirit FOs leaving for the better-paying regionals offering a flow to a legacy. Has that happened YET?

As brought up on another thread.....you guys really should target potential NHs with a concerted information campaign on why not to go to Spirit. That is what I'd be doing if I was your SPSC & Comm committee (given MEC blessing of course).

Between refusing to fly on your days off and no NHs to support the new Airbuses that are coming, the company would be totally screwed and I can promise you they'd come to the table ready to truly negotiate.

And when HR brings the judge stats on reduced applications, the union gets to pay out for that too?

Why? What's illegal about educating the up and coming airline piloting population of the pros and cons of working for Spirit airlines.

At some point in time one has to stop tucking their tail and go on the offensive. Tell me how that is a "job action"?

It's a job action the same way colluding to not work on your day off is a job action as far as that judge is concerned. Announcing your intentions to organize efforts to any detrimental effect on a public forum will wind up as evidence when they try to hold us in contempt. Do what you think is right but don't leave the company a heap of evidence in the process.
