Default Spirit airlines question.

There are about a million post on spirit and unfortunately the format set up on Airline pilot Central is not nearly robust enough to narrow down my search enough, so I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before.

How is your health insurance? I'm looking more for information as it relates to your family plan. Is there a company offered HSA or anything like that?

REALISTICALLY how long before you guys expect to see a new contract? I know there are people saying years but I have been in this industry long enough to know that its normally about a year or 2 after the expiration of the previous contract. Secondly as it relates to a knew contract what are you guys looking for in terms of pay and realistically where do you expect to settle.

I would be interested in Ft. Lauderdale flying. How long would it take to hold FLL and what type of flying is done out of FLL? Is there a good trip mix (1 day, 2 day, 3 day, 4 day trips), If so how long does it normally take to hold day trips or 2 day trips?

I understand you guys are negotiating right now and moral is pretty low as it is during most negotiations but I would like to still ask up front to try to keep this thread on point. Thanks in advance.

Health insurance is good. Lots of options from very cheap but serviceable to really expensive and all encompassing. Not sure about the contract. I'd say about a year. Maybe more, hopefully less. You'll hold FLL within a couple months. They do lots of international turns but I dunno how many lines are all day trips and how senior they go. It's not as bad as some on here make it out to be but it isn't as good as it should be if that makes any sense. Pay is terrible so make sure you can afford it. Crews are all good people.

Trojan,

Thanks, that's the information I was looking for. The email I recently received from Spirit says if selected I would be placed in a pool. Do you know how long applicants are being placed in the pull for.

Maybe they give you a class date and then "pull" you into an earlier one if they have a no-show. First I've heard of a hiring pool.

Jet blue's current contract. They may have a new TA in the next year and a half or so. From my understanding they are getting into the sticky points in the contract now( work rules and pay). That in itself could take a year but who knows.

I guess what I'm getting at is if that is what the company wants they better start working because jet blue rates will be going up in the next year or two I'm sure.

Kindly ignore and disregard anything cujo says. She doesn't work for spirit and is a full-time troll on the spirit threads. Good luck with your decision.

Got to be a real sick person to get your jollies trolling NK message boards. Seriously, you really don't have anything better to do in life or more important things to do? I hardly have time to drop in here for days or weeks to see what's going on. Too busy trying to not work and live life. You on the other hand have a severe mental obsession with NK. I bet you stalk ex boyfriends also when you are not trolling Spirit. Make a New Years resolution to get some help.

Punchdrunk & A320ULCC what are your thoughts on the contract? How much time will it take, what are you guys looking for, Where do you think it will settle?

It only seems like it will be worse off for the company the longer they wait. What are your thoughts?
