I'd like to say I'm glad we are enforcing our contract to the fullest. But may I point out our common enemy. After years of spending countless horrible 18-20hr layovers in queens we suddenly decided to file a group grievance for LGA long overnights. We won that grievance and now we are in manhattan. The hotel is acceptable and the location is very good.
So what does the company do? They've made their pairing optimizer limit the number of LGA long overnights just to fukc us. There are TWO overnights at the long hotel, yes, TWO. Both are about 14hrs with long rides in ludicrous traffic on both ends. 1:55 prior to departure at O'dark thirty for one ride to the airport. Now with LGA construction the van is being moved up another 15min for a whopping 2:10 prior to departure. If you're running on time you get 11:30 at the hotel if you're lucky. Plenty of time to do whatever the hell it is that people do in a crowded city.
So after countless crews spending 20 painful hours in queens. They've got it down to just two sets of pilots in manhattan feeling what it's like to get fukced. This company will stop at nothing to screw us.
Btw has anyone seen the new united rates with signing of the delta ta. YEAH...
Are we not ****ed off enough yet. What the fukc guys!!!

mad yet?
I'm beginning to think we are screwed. Almost all of the FO's I have flown with lately aren't fired up at all. They all seem quite happy here. If I say something about not calling for paper work or descending early they look at me like I'm on drugs.

Here's one way to do it...
From 1999-"AMR Corp.'s American Airlines, facing increased flight cancellations, threatened to sue its pilots' union if a sickout isn't called off by the busy President's Day holiday weekend.
American said it canceled 500 flights, or 22% of its schedule of 2,250 departures Monday as a result of a shortage of pilots. The pilots had been encouraged by union leaders to call in sick if they did not feel "physically or mentally" up to flying. On Sunday, American canceled 240 flights because of a lack of pilots, up from 90 flights on Saturday."

One thing I hope happens now that the industry bar has pretty well been updated is to put out the same comprehensive industry pay comparison that they put out a year and a half ago with the updated contract rates. Makes sure there are paper copies of it left everywhere with (for the math deficient and lazy) 3-4 career scenarios (assuming all a320 rates) that show the disparity in total compensation.
Make sure the P2P folks all have multiple copies of these single sheet industry pay comparisons to hand out to everyone.

The union says all it needs to EVERY TIME it sends out emails or has a call in. "Follow the contract", and "fly your line." If someone isn't smart enough or doesn't possess the reading comprehension to realize what that means... they are probably still picking up trips for MUP or straight time.
