How's QOL in Sunny? Easy commutable rosters? Friendly approach to problem solving?

Nope. Not commutable friendly at all. I think it’s insane that some try and commute for this airline. Reserve days are only 10 off in a 30 day month and 11 in a 31 day month.
With that being said though, they are trying to push for new pilot bases. But most pilots are against this . No idea why because it’s the only way they are going to grow . A new contract is most likely around the corner with the troubles they are having hiring. If you live in msp it’s a great gig though |
Thanks and what are the mj improvements in the new contracts if any? And what's the current hiring rate vs new pilot requirements?
How is the expansion real or just a figment of imagination? |

Just talked to a recruiter there today. Guess they’re looking at bringing in 10 new aircraft next year also. Would be interested in hearing how new hires there are feeling about the place.

I think a net zero gain in aircraft as well as they are getting rid of the -700’s and retrofitting all the -800’s with 183 seats, an on board WiFi based entertainment system and power in seats. Retaining is their problem. Pay and benefits at half of other LCC’s and majors will eat them alive. The disconnect on the pulse of the industry is scary. |

Beech nailed it, word from the insiders is that there will be no growth upgrades in 2019. Which is vastly different from a few months ago. -You may also want to ask the recruiter about the new hire fail rate over the last few months. |

The training for me, was one of the easiest training. From day 1 to my IOE it was 2 months. You get what you put in, if you choose to slack off and not study, you are going to suffer, you are paid to study during training, nothing else should be on your mind during that point. It is not the instructors jobs to hold your hand and tell you step by step how you should fly. You need to know flows, procedures, limitations and knowledge of systems, if you can not do that, then you have no business flying a jet. Instructors will help you if you are having a difficult time. Really not that hard, study study study.
