Default NO ATP required for Sun Country?

Questiom?

Looking at sun country pilot website and it states they offer to pay for your ATP

They must be really desperate for pilot now. Free ATP and free 737 type rating

How is the training program? Will they exist in 3 years, any new order, new growth, retirement

Thanks

Lol. Yeah. So desperate for pilots. I heard they are gonna start paying for people’s ratings too.

They're not hiring, and I don't expect they will again any time soon.

After this whole situation is over, I'd bet airlines like Sun Country can be a little more picky, and may not even offer the ATP-CTP anymore.

Good luck!

This is very true. Gone are the days for quite a while that sunny will be trying to cram people into the door.

If they are not hiring, then someone should have told the chief pilot on wed at the FAPA online hiring fair that he shouldn't have been telling everyone they are hiring.....

Perhaps they're looking to create a hiring pool. Couldn't say.

All I know is that as of a month ago they cancelled the scheduled ground school classes and have been sending emails about how they have way too many pilots for their flying right now. I think they offered something like half of the pilot group to take reduced paid leave.

With everything that has transpired in the last couple months. I don’t think Sunny will be hiring soon. When they do, they will be able to pick from some pretty qualified regional pilots. We’ve seen a few regionals shut down and we do not know what will happen after September and the bailout money is gone...

Let me speak clearer...the chief pilot said 4 days ago they ARE hiring...what that means in reality i have no idea (and don't really care), but i'm passing it on

And Mesa HR says they are hiring. But with a little more digging you realize “hiring” means CJO and entry into a pool. The correct question to ask at recruiting events now is do you still have classes running. Because “hiring” into a pool doesn’t get anyone a paycheck.

💯. True. I’ve talked to the executive team, chief pilots, trainers, instructors... We are NOT running new hire classes anytime soon! They just finished three new hires. They were lucky the company decided to finish their training. We are flying 5-10 percent of the normal at best. We have half the fleet parked. Why would we hire??
