So i got an invite to interview.. regional FO with 2800 TT... curious to hear your thoughts on the company and if it’s something I should go for?

Do you live in Minnesota, or are you willing to move here? If not, the first year or so on reserve will be tough.

Not a perfect company, but good people here, and it's getting better all the time. I like it a lot! But I live here. Did I mention how that's important?

Good luck!

Take the interview, meet the people for yourself, see the operation and determine if it’s a good fit for you. I’m fairly new here, but it’s a great fit for me. Everybody seems very confident that the next contract will be at least on par with Frontier’s current one.

let me provide another perspective. Literally 50% of our FOs bypassed upgrade. What does that tell you about life on reserve and junior schedules? They need work.

Any rumors on the contract negotiations that started at the beginning of the month?

they started. Nothing to report at this time. Company made money on our crappy contract.... why should they give us a new one? Flights aren’t being canceled due to short staffed, they are still getting new hires even if it’s 4-6 at a time.

That's a pessimistic take on things.

The growth plans are going to require a whole lot more than 6 pilots per month. Equally serious is the fact that if the rank and file of the pilots start to get the feeling that a good contract is not coming quickly, well, there will be hundreds that leave for better pay. It would be really hard to grow the company with a mass exodus of pilots and the inability to replace those guys and gals, much less hiring for growth. Management knows this very well. Having said that, I have little doubt they will be willing to flirt with that danger to a certain degree before giving up lots of money.

they may know it, but they are failing to act on it. They will do nothing until they absolutely have to, right now things are good. Pilots are coming here, flights are leaving on time. Jude will drag his feet until the operation starts to crumble, I wish/hope we get a deal done, it’s up to the company, our MEC is doing a great job, but the company no so much, I hope I’m wrong.

When the majors start calling though SY might be in trouble.. Especially since SUNNY is almost at the bottom of the seniority list for upgrades.... People do not even have the time so they might start displacing people up.
