Company wins again!

Woohoo! The PPE LOA is extended indefinitely? Sweet! Hey, reserve pilots - get used to working your butts off and having nothing to show for it! What a f*cking joke!

ALPA says they need our input, they love to hear from us, fill out the survey, blah blah blah. Well, I know there have been plenty of guys telling them to stop the LOA's during negotiations. ALPA might like your input, but that doesn't mean they are listening to you. Our ALPA MEC does whatever the hell they want. They are not listening to the pilot group. I hope everyone shows up to this in person meeting, whenever that happens. We need to ambush our MEC. Enough is enough.

What’s a PPE?

Forget the "E", but basically Premium Pay. 1.5 your hourly wage, ie. 150%.

PPE premium pay eligible. I agree this is a win for the company, just another band-aid to their staffing. i'm sure many guys will be all over this "extra" pay, rather than having the company hire more people so they can get off reserve, have better line, get weekends off (which doesn't happen anyway) or upgrade eventually etc. and pay all of us what we are worth.
I wonder which side thought it was a good idea to start with PPE language? A better fix would have been trip rig and pay rates, then iron out the rest over the 18+ months, during which time we can at least afford to feed ourselves.
Union members and leadership especially should be trying to create more jobs within the union, that is the purpose of being union workers.

Your dick?

or

I meant I forget what the E stood for, as said PP is Premium Pay and as someone above mentioned the E stands for eligible. So..... PPE is Premium Pay Eligible, which gives you 1.5 or 150% of your hourly wage, ie time and a half if you pick up trips outside your final schedule. Smh

I, for one, am sick of working myself to death. My days of picking up a bunch of extra time are over for now. Especially with lines coming out at 99.9% of the 95 hour max.

As far as staffing goes, there is already a problem. 25% of new classes aren't showing up and it's going to get worse and not better. Granted, the airplanes are still flying, so it's not a crisis, but the buffer between adequately staffed and cancelling flights is a real problem.

If the company wants to put out 200% trips and guys want to take them, that is their choice.

I'm also not in the camp saying all LOAs should be denied until we get a new contract. Hurting ourselves in order to hurt the company is not a philosophy that's going to get my vote.

Delta alone is suppose to hire 1,000 this year! And United is about to order 200 more airplanes. Plenty of other opportunities out there. That’s your answer….

Bad time to be giving an inch during negotiations. I was all for incremental LOA improvements to our contract prior to opening of Section 6 negotiations. We are giving up leverage with all these LOA's. My 2 cents.
