Default What Can I Expect?

Hello!

I'm just thinking ahead and weighing options... I applied to Sun Country 8-10 months ago but after doing some charter/jet flying, I was pulled for an interview. I'm pretty stoked about the opportunity and have spoke with several happy pilots at Sun Country. Does anyone have a timeline that I can expect for a class date after hopefully a successful interview? How long I can expect training, reserve, holding a line, how much flying? I've read previous posts and 3 months of reserve seems to be the consensus... How's commuting if you live near RSW/ORL/TPA? I kind of thought having just one base of MSP would take some of the stress off of commuting. I have 2 other class dates with LCC's but projected for August-December timeframes. I'd rather fly a Boeing over an Airbus and the variety of Sun Country's flying is intriguing.

Thanks for the replies!

Spouse, dependents, parents (they pay a nominal fee). You can use a designee in lieu of spouse, for SY purposes benefits are they same, but outside of SY the designee might not receive the same benefits as spouse. 24 buddy passes per year.

The designee can only ride on company metal whereas a spouse has full zed benefits like the employee. We also have “companion” passes where you can bring someone not on your benefits with you and they will ride at S1 priority versus S5 buddy pass priority.

We get 24 buddy passes a year!? How did I not know this having been on property a year and a half. How do I access these?

It's on the ID90 page where you search for flights.

You're looking at about 6 months from indoc to IOE. From what I've heard, the training department is really backed up.
