It's typically a "list at gate". If you're able to check on this i'd greatly appreciate it!

They are not on either. I was looking the other day as the kiddo wants to ride on the DorkJet

Most people don’t want to work 18 days a month. So why be a junior capt on reserve when you can have a better QoL on the other list.

Some chase the money and/or single with no kids. Why be home?

It was my understanding that QOL has been pretty poor and almost impossible to commute. Has anything changed with this? It it possible to commute and get 15 days off per month?

Pretty loaded questions, but I’ll try. I can’t speak for anybody but myself, I’m a commuter, on property here for just over a year. Haven’t had an issue commuting, if you are getting PM reserve right off the bat, having commutability is not impossible.

Min days off per month on reserve is 12, so 15 days off while commuting is pretty unreasonable, but that shouldn’t be a surprise. As a line holder, 15 days off could happen, but I’d bank on 13-14.

I also don’t know where you commute from, commuting from Fargo will be significantly easier than San Diego, which also shouldn’t be a surprise.

Speaking of Fargo, this is actually my situation. Any idea into that commute specifically on DL metal without DL travel benefits

It would be a fairly easy commute since there are so many flights per day, but you’re at the same jumpseat priority as OAL. So right now, the SkyWest pilot bumps you.

Honestly, I’d highly consider driving more than flying. With that distance, even if everything goes well on your first choice commute, it’s not saving much time anyhow. When you can’t make your first choice commute, you’ll be glad you drove instead.
