Sorry sir, I meant here at CommutAir. I apologize in advance… but what a 3.5 rig? I saw on airlinepilotcentral that Jan 23 Sunny is going to a 3.5:1 rig? We don’t have ‘rigs’ here at CommutAir. At least not that I know of.

That's the trip rig, meaning that for every 3.5 hours away from base (TAFB) you're guaranteed at least one hour of credit. It incentivizes the company to create more efficient trips or at least makes sure you get adequately compensated for the 32 hour layovers.

Average 4 day on the current trip rig.

80 hour TAFB / 4.2 = 19.0 credit

Same trip with 3.5 trip rig,
80(TAFB)/3.5= 22.85 credit

Sure it’s only 3.85 hours difference but if you fly 3 Four day trips a month that’s an 11.5 hour difference. Adds up quickly.

You’re right…I’m a bit slow.
