How are the layovers over at Sunny? Are they decent? Are the hotels OK? Any negatives? Any and all answers welcome.

most hotels are located near railroad tracks, homeless and spent cartridges on the ground, so yea, pretty great if you don't mind locking the door to your room and hiding in the bathtub waiting to call 911.

Layovers vary. We'll do anything from 24 hours in a resort in PUJ to 10 hours in JFK overlooking the airport.

Per the contract, hotels are AAA 3 diamond or better so they're usually pretty decent. We had a couple of lousy hotels last year but I think those have mostly been resolved.

Locations can vary, but more often than not we're out by the airport and not downtown. Not my favorite spot to hang out, but everyone's different. The Florida locations all have a bunch of places to eat within easy walking distance, nice pools and are generally pleasant.

On charters things can be more of a mixed bag, location-wise. The hotels are usually fine, but the locations can run the gamut from nothing at all around to smack-dab in the middle of downtown. It just depends.

We don't bump into a lot of Delta crews but we do tend to hang with the JetBlue, SWA crowd.

The only time I contemplated sleeping in a bathtub was when I was in DCA during the inauguration, but the trouble stayed across the river and I slept like a baby. :-)

You must be referring to the Vagina Hat crowd.

I was more worried about being in the area at all. DC on inauguration day is just one giant target.

Sadly, we don't do DCA anymore. It was one of my favorite layovers.

Since it seems like you can't hold turn for 3+ years, what kind of duty and trip rigs are there for inefficient schedules?

I’ve been here 1.5 years now and can hold a turn line. Who’s feeding you bad info?

Anyone have a more recent interview experience they could share?

I spent the $20 on airlineinterviews.com already, but I'm trying to be as prepared as possible.

Thanks in Advance.

Duty rig is 2:1
Trip rig is 4.2:1

Some trips that are 4-6 days pay on rig, more now pay on block because we are 100% deadhead, so that has helped. It’s probably a driving factor for new bases, eliminating dead head, hotel costs etc.
