Yes, that’s what it is starting to look like. Once off reserve you should plan on holding a vacation relief line, red eye line, or a horribly inefficient line with 12 days off. That should last another few years. The captain seniority list is currently overstaffed and there has been little to no attrition and there will continue to be little to no attrition.

Pay
I understand that at the end of contract for FO is $135 and CA is $202. There is also a 10% raise increase in November 2019. Does the raise increase also increase these rates? Also, when are contract negotiations starting? Anyone seeing other raises in the future?

Our contract is amendable Nov., 2020. Doubtful any raise will happen prior to a new contract. The company has had a challenge recruiting lately, but I'm sure that in addition to anticipated cost savings of opening new bases they feel they will get the additional benefit of making Sunny an appealing option to a new population of pilots who have no interest in commuting to MSP. My bet is if the company can get language regarding new bases that is acceptable to them then other new bases (i.e. LAS and/or DFW) will be announced shortly after PDX.

Howdy. I’m a retired army guy looking to get into 121 flying. I haven’t flown anything in a couple of years and was looking to start applying to select regionals in a few months. I’m in the PNW and would prefer to stay here, so Horizon was at the top of my list.
Here are my stats:
3600 TT
2000 FW (all King Airs and Citations)
800 FW PIC
A couple questions for the well-informed:
1. Would Sun Country consider hiring me since I haven’t flown in the last 2.5 years, or would I need to do some flying first?
2. Assuming PDX opens this summer, what are the chances of new hires going there (best guess)?
I have no intention of moving my family to MSP, but if PDX is an option I think this might be a good place to start my civilian career. I'll do some digging in the forums for more information. Thanks for the help!

If you haven't flown professionally in 2.5+ years, I would strongly suggest getting through a regional 121 training program first. A lot of guys come back to the regionals after washing out of training at Sunny/Frontier/Spirit/Atlas/Omni. I had almost half a dozen in my class at Envoy.
