Ain't that the truth?

They are gonna stretch the 737 until it wraps around the equator....

(God forbid actually designing something new in that category twice per century.)

Why add extra cost when demand is so high for the current product?

They build what people are willing to pay for at a profit to them. Nothing more as is in any business.
But as Pilots we want shiny new all the time.

Actually, I just want a more comfortable cockpit...which is one of the main reasons I bid out of it on this last AE.

If they stretch that jet much more, we'll be flying 160-170 kts finals and have to rotate less than 1 degree/sec to avoid tail strikes. I recently flew a < 1 month old -900, that already had knobs that were loose and the FO comm panel had gone out (as evidenced by NOT have the new panel with an intercom)...cheap!
