Question kevin

hello everybody, I'm a new member. Don't know if I chose the right place to land with my question. I'm a very aged pilot not very conversant with most of today's flying technicalities. I recently happened to watch a YouTube report of a Lufthansa MD-11 cargo aircraft from Frankfurt a/M to Mubai. In the English subtitles caption I read "Kevin signs on FCP.."followed by a multi-digited number. The phrase was in the pilot checklist. I found that Kevin also in another similar video. Could someone help me to decipher the phrase? Many thanks in advance

This one?

If so the auto generated subtitles in English make absolutely no sense, mostly gibberish generated by computer intelligence.

Yep. That video. I suspected there was something wrong with the subtitles. On the other hand I need them in general as I am not a native English speaker and the audio is often much worse for me. Many thanks indeed for taking the trouble.

in my case the subtitles were English (in your link I believe there were Dutch so all the more uncomprehensible). The caption I referred to was at abt min 30:00. I think your reasoning apply all the same. Doesn't it?

Kevin=Cabin signs -on, (seat belts and no smoking).
FCP (Flight control panel) for 178 (she turns heading bug to runway magnetic heading) for runway 18.

I had to listen closely several times because of the sound quality and heavy accent.

Also you can change the language YouTube translates to in the setting option.

Wink Kevin

I want to thank you very much for your interest which definitely solved my problem. Very grateful. I had been trying meanwhile to double-check audio/caption. The audio seemed to confirm something like "kevin" which actually kept leading me astray. Never associated it with "cabin" that was the answer. My compliments.
