Been done. Just using new materials.
Does it make for a wing with better lift and drag throughout the flight regime? Yes. Does the added complexity, manufacturing cost, maintenance cost, possibly weight, and reliability justify it? Questionable. |

We're getting to where almost anything which shaves a few points off the carbon count can be justified... as long as it's sturdy and reliable enough for line ops.
