What you have to remember is when you are in a "flat" landing attitude you are really far from flat (but pitched up about 2 degrees)...many guys flare WAY to much IMO ( dissolves lift from the wing faster making the thing sink like a rock ,driving the mains on) and that's what really screws them, the illusion does take a while to get used to...flare to a flat attitude and you will be surprised

reduce the power when your instinct tells you too...just like you should in any other plane..there are no hard and fast rules for this

Out in Salt Lake some guys would do the old 'push the nose over slightly and let it land 'flat' technique...so I tried that one day down in Key West. I didn't kill any one and we were able to fly back out of there with passengers but I swear to God my as$hole went thru my boxers and touched the seat!
