That's why I get paid to pay attention. It doesn't take much effort to keep it from stalling.

THANK YOU!!! If you aren't capable of monitoring the aircraft in VS and avoiding a stall, please voluntarily surrender your ATP certificate and get out of the sky!

Speed mode at 250 to 10,000. Vs at 290 ( or cost index departing a small airport) to 500 fpm, then no less than 250 ias the rest of the way up. I can monitor the speed also!

Speed or pitch on the way up. VS, pitch or VNAV on the way down, Only time I use VS while climbing is when we're working our way up to the high 40's and want to climb in small increments (block alt). Sometimes our speed mode waits far too long to make changes.

FLCH on the way up. VNAV down to 10000ish then FLCH again.
