Best Tablet

Hi,

Im a civilian, student pilot. I wonder in the current market of Tablet computers what is the best size, and connectivity preferred by Major Airline pilots? Is there a market leader which has all the bells and whistles ?

Berne:confused:

Tablets are a short life cycle item, what's best today my well not be in 3 years ( or weeks!!!). Get what's best for what you do know.

iPad mini with Foreflight. You won't need anything else.

As a Nexus 7 owner and "full size" older Ipad owner, I prefer Ipad with CHROME browser installed gives me the best of both worlds. I am not a huge Safari browser fan

I would go with the iPad Mini w/ Retina Display. They are super compact, offer a lot of computing power, and the App Store sets the standard for aviation specific apps. I have literally never heard of anyone bashing Foreflight. iPad Mini can't be beat when it comes to a great GA tablet.

Personally i use an iPad mini retina, which i like for its light weight, crisp display and portability. My company provided us with an iPad Air as our personal EFB and for private use as well. So now i usually lug two iPads around.

Ipad of some variation will be the best bet. Most 121 operators use them now. DAL is the only one I can think of that had gone with something else

iPad mini: I have seen someone using it with Jepp en route charts and it seemed just a hair too small. I think the iPad air seems a little bit easier to read/tap small font but maybe I'm just getting lazy eyes in my old age.

And so far it's been a big mistake!
