121 non-standard alternate mins

Do non-standard alternate minimums ("A" inside black triangle) apply to 121?

If you have a reference, that would be great. Thanks.

No, for 121 and 135, alternate minimums are controlled by OpSpecs.

The only time you worry bout the alternate information on the chart is if the approach is not authorized for alternate planning. Other than that alternate minimums are always derived.

Thanks.

And does that mean the approach is not authorized or that the airport is not authorized? I've heard both but the Instrument Procedures handbook says "Airports that do not qualify for use as an alternate airport are designated with an 'A'"

Again, C070 OpSpec takes precedence. This document lists the approved airports, Regular, Provisional, etc.. In an Emergency situation, you can do whatever you need to per 91.3.
