Max takeoff weight limiting factors
Remind me of the takeoff weight calculations.
Is it the lower of Structural weight MLW plus Fuel Burn Field length Landing weight for field? Can someone please clarify? On EMB145 |
It was a CRJ 200, but I was once take-off limited by our single-engine go around performance at our destination (KDEN, 100+ degree day). Had to remove 30 of our 45 passengers to be legal.

Obstacle clearance, OEI
Or Climb limited by certification--2.5% for twins, 2.7 for tri-motors, 3.0 for quads Or 115% of all engine take-off to 35'. Unlikely for twins, less unlikely for tri-motors, sometimes for lower-thrust quads GF |

Climb mtow. 4.landing weight max or mlw A. Max landing structural B. Max landing runway C. Max landing climb Hint on the line for landing it's always a unless your in key west or similar and it's raining. Also number 4 and it's sub options aren't a hard requirement to take off if the company ops specs allow so. |
From Boeing JTPM:
For the given takeoff conditions, the allowable takeoff weight will be the smallest of: the certified limit weight, the field length-limited weight, the climb-limited weight, the obstacle-limited weight including the effects of any turn procedures, the tire speed-limited weight, the brake energy-limited weight, the return-to-land limit weight, (McDonnell-Douglas series without fuel dump) the landing-limited weight, the enroute limit weight, the pavement strength limit weight, where appropriate, the noise limit weight, where applicable. |
