What EFB mount do you use?
I have a iPad 4 with a 9.7" screen and I fly the LR60, B200, PC12, and PA46T (meridian). Does anyone have any advice of a good portable mount I can use in all of these and future aircraft? I fly part 91 so this stuff isn't setup in any of these aircraft already like with a lot of 135 or 121 carriers. I use to fly the EMB145 and we had permanent mounts, but I need one I can interchange and that will accommodate these small cockpits and limited window space for a suction cup style. I've been looking into RAM mounts, anyone have any experience with these?

Part 91 can pretty much do whatever, but recommend reading FAA AC 120-76 for guidance on EFB's. There is a section on "viewable stowage". The EFB cannot interfere with full range of motion of the yoke. Hence it does not work to put the full size IPAD in a kneeboard or yoke mount. Also, the yoke. Yoke mount must have an STC if permanently mounted. The full size IPAD does not fit well in LR-60. Most Lear operators are using The Mini IPAD.

I have been using RAM mounts the entire time. Generally, I have been able to use the single suction cup, but they don't always work. RAM does make a lot of different mount types though including clips. They With the ball connectors you can arrange them pretty neatly and manipulate the holder into different configurations. When flying the Lear, I didn't have much room either and used a kneeboard that was built to fit an iPad mini without a case. For a smaller aircraft, you may need to try a mini.

Scheduled legacy carrier in europe, we do use a 2-cup RAM mount for our iPads, they are actually a required part for the use of the EFB below 1000ft. The mount is usually used in the lower forward corner of the sidewindow.

I can't speak to all the planes, but in the B200 I've used both the RAM single suction mount (on the opening side window) and a B200 yoke specific mount sold by ipadyokemounts.com. I only use an iPad Mini because the regular size is just too big for use anywhere else than on a kneeboard.
The yoke mount with the Mini is my preferred option now. Works great for single pilot and doesn't interfere at all. That is with a G1000 and a legacy round dial panel.
