Default Time to work on the resume?

I was thinking about getting a professional resume made or at least brushing mine up. Cannot hurt and finding a job with current 121 experience should be easy.

Just wanted to get thoughts from you all to see if you are doing/thinking of doing the same and where.

I have an app in at C5 and have a skype interview later this week...

**fingers crossed**

I would skip paying for a pro. resume at the regional level. I just used a template from online and made sure it had relevant info and it worked for me. That was based on advice when I asked same question a year ago. A United Capt sat down with me and said it was good to go and I looked at his and it seemed mediocre compared to what I had. I think you'll be good.

OF COURSE it's a good time to work on your resume. ULCC are hiring FOs with zero TPIC. The legacy carriers are retiring record numbers of people, a number that will continue to increase for the next 4-5 years.

Even if all you ever aspired to was to be a regional lifer, you better be looking because the regionals are all having trouble with staffing and having a great schedule always requires junior people to have the cr@p schedule, and those are getting fewer and far less qualified. Consolidation is coming, including higher capacity aircraft in markets that will support them. Retiring based at your current domicile or flying the same old aircraft or with your regional airline seniority may not be an option.

Now all they check is to see if you’re a licensed pilot and you have the time and most importantly if you have a current pulse. Don’t know why you would need any pro help unless you’re going for Legacy

Why would you bail to another regional to be an FO? If you’re going to make a lateral move, at least go be a DEC at Envoy or piedmont. Otherwise, try for a LCC. As others have said above, they’re hiring without TPIC time.

Don't know if I would pull the trigger on a lateral move until this situation with Republic gets worked out. Would really suck to make a move somewhere and then find out the next week TSA is going to be part of Republic with their payrates. Particularly Commutair because there is a good possibility they could be involved in this consolidation. Would suck to leave TSA for Commutair, and find out a couple of weeks later you are still working for the same company at new hire seniority. Better to wait for a month or so and see how this plays out.

At the very least catch up on logbooks.

But I’d have a resume ready to go, too, just in case. Then all you gotta do is update your hours on it and hit submit.

For those that are a bit too complacent, here is a perspective. The 2018 plans for American and Delta hires combine is MORE than ALL the pilots at Compass, GoJet, and Trans State COMBINED.

Obviously that does not mean all the pilots at the three regionals will be hired by these two airline (certainly not overnight). But the world has changed. And for the better.

The Iad/Rdu pilots are going to be screwed regardless. Even if republic buys tsa I’m sure there will be fences in place and only way to head east again is on the 175. None of the rah guys fanning the rumor have mentioned anything about commutair. Even then there’s still Endeavor, PSA and other options out east that are just as good as republic...

Maybe not the Republic people you are talking to. Remember UAL originally wanted all the XRs at TSA. Republic needs the pilots as much as the planes so I suspect the deal for TSA pilots will probably be pretty good.
