CA Upgrade

What is the current upgrade time? And is it seniority based only, or happening quicker for those with 1000 121?

About 2.5-3 years. Seniority only.

Thanks! Good to know. Totally different than what’s advertised.

That being said, at the rate seniority movement is going they will hit eligibility both seniority and hours wise about same time

So about 6 months-1 year ago it was around 22-24 months. Over the summer because of such low amounts of FOs, upgrading was frozen and no one upgraded for like 1-3 months (can't remember exact time frame). Upgrading has resumed, but is now more like 3ish years. With 3 bases closing, you can expect upgrade times to probably decrease slightly (because a lot of pilots also left, and ORD/DEN received more flying so losing all the flying in those 3 bases sort of offset the additional pilots somewhat).

Not sure where this guy is getting his info as he said on another (ranting) thread he is a "former TSA pilot."

Looking at the current 10/1/18 seniority list, and current upgrade award for the November class, the most junior FO to be awarded was hired September 2016. I would call that about a 2-year upgrade. Junior DEN upgrade will be a September 2016 hire, junior ORD upgrade will be a July 2016 hire, and junior STL upgrade will be a September 2016 hire.

New hires look like they either got their base of choice out of training or waited a month or (maybe) two in some cases to hold DEN, ORD, and STL.
