Hours as new FO
Howdy!
Have a Nov 18th class date and will be looking at ORD for a base (commuting from GRR). I’m coming down to the wire to either go with TSA or Endeavor but the reserve flying time with 9E looks scary low along with a lengthy reserve time. I know TSA has little to no reserve but my question is ..... As a new FO, how much block / credit should I “anticipate” for a normal line and also what are some of you guys and gals crediting? Love flying so I definitely want to pick up some premium time also. Is 100++ credit as an FO out of ORD crazy?
Thanks!

Once you're a lineholder, your schedule will typically be built to credit around 80-85 hours per month. Most are adding about 5 hours to their line due to soft pay (flying over block or 4.25 min-day).
Chicago lines are typically built quite a bit more efficiently than DEN and STL, so you should have the days off to pick up open time at 150% minimum. One extra 2 or 3 day should put you at 100. In fact, lots of guys I've talked to haven't credited less than 100 hours a month this year.
The tides have also shifted a little bit and some new hires are getting awarded ORD in training. That's a good thing since it leads to more motion and even shorter reserve times than in the past.

Contract is in mediation and our negotiator and MEC chair both have left and are being replaced by new people. Also the company seems to have no interest in getting a contract anytime soon.
