Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Just cause I stayed, does not make me nuts.

I dont take, nor need medication, I am just as healthy now as I was before I was hired.

I knew what I was getting into when I got hired, and I will say this again, I had no expectations, nor have I been dissappointed.

What I do have going for me is the ability to think on my own, or what my wife tells me to think, and make my choices for what ever reason, and then being able to live with the outcomes.

That is what I do from month to month.

For me, this is not the worst thing I have done.

The day I become nuts is when I sit and dwell on the fact that some other pilot group got a better contract, but do nothing to support our efforts. There are other things that I see, and happen to me everytime I go on a trip, but I will be nuts when the little things that **** me off now, I will not be able to let it go and become bitter and haggered and not wanting to do this anymore.

I still like coming to work, I still like getting the amount of time off that I do, and I cannot get that anywhere else right now.

Bottom line, I did that to myself, and there are many more people out there that I feel like this place has something to offer them. It is not for everyone, but it is for some.
You make out of it what you put in.

I did this to myself and I willing to live with it. Nuts is doing this, and blaming it on someone else

Reeves

A LOT of people would like that, especially commuters. No more two leg commutes thru other hubs, just one leggers

I doubt TSA will open another base. Even with all of the flying they do or have done out of PIT, ORD, and IAD, they've gone for years with just the RIC and STL bases. It seems to work for them so far. Another base wouldn't be terrible, but you definitely don't want to end up with what we've got here at CHQ. All of these outstation bases really hurt our schedules by spreading the flying over too many lines. I haven't looked closely at the distances, but off the top of my head I'd be willing to bet that all of our 145 bases are within a five-hour drive of another base. Now that CLE is opening, we've got three bases in Ohio alone.
I'm happy for the TSA pilot group that you guys are getting more flying. I don't know how you'll staff it (especially on the CA side) considering what I hear from the people who are still there, but I don't know of many harder-working groups of pilots.

Well if you get 825 from Mesa, thats the one the chick smashed in ROA back in '01

Atreyu 02-17-2008 03:42 PM

Wow, alot of TSA bashing in here, all because I posted that we got 3 more jets.

I commute out of ORD to go to work at TSA instead of working for Skywest or CHQ side on the 190's. Why? Because I'm at a regional for my 1000hrs of PIC, which will happen the quickest here as well. I was in the first few classes that came to Trans States after the mass exodus occured, and as bad as everything is, I have nothing to complain about.

Only thing I'm jealous about is how hot the skywest flight attendants are....

Reeves - No worries man, I was calling flyinaway nuts, not you!

Koolaidman 02-17-2008 04:48 PM

As long as you guys have the attitude of "get in, get my 1000 PIC, get out", you have no reason to stay and fight for a better contract. That is why places like Mesa and TSA have crappy work rules and continue to stick around.

That will be 175's Duck.

First of all that was directed at the Duck, he gets it. Secondly, what don't you guys get? That is not a hope of mine or any other dreamer who would like to go fly big metal at a what was once Legacy carrier. Furthermore read some of my posts the last thing I am is short sighted. I am however also a realist to a point and if you don' think "the powers that be" are not working on a way for Continental customers to be flying on larger regional jets you are in la-la land, Dude.

PS: It's not a bad thing to be a dreamer if it were most of us would not be in here.

Atreyu 03-12-2008 08:16 PM

so far we have 834mj :-x

It's not just skywest pilots that do that. But I agree that it seems like its very fashionable for people here to bash TSA and MESA.

Maybe they should consider bargaining for a clause in their contract to allow Mesa pilots to transfer over with longevity when their aircraft transition (ala ASA did for SKW).

How about for those that follow you? Just because you "have the attitude of get in, get my 1000 PIC, get out" doesn't mean that you can't "fight for a better contract" while you are there.

Nice attitude.
