Trans States: Primitive FLiCA
Hey guys, I had this idea last night:
While Management and the Union are having their little battle over FLiCA, I figured we can use APC as a "primitive" version of FLiCA. The layout for requests could look something like: Pairing / Date / Report / Leg(s) / Depart / Arrive / Block / Credit / CA or FO I'll start us off: S3305 / Nov 19 / 1052 / 7979 STL-ORD /1137 / 1254 / 1:17 / 1:17 / FO Or you could just copy and paste your pairing and bold the stuff you are looking to trade. Let me know what you guys think. Suggestions as to a more streamlined approach are welcome. |
On second thought, I now realize that many of the guys on here want to stay anonymous, and trying to organize trip trades and the like on here may be more difficult than I originally thought.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted* :) (*Shelf life of this idea was approximately one (1) hour and twenty-four (24) minutes.) |
crew trac - daily open time = primitive flica
|
It could work if we had like an exclusive thread or something....or if the lounge was in full swing.

...Glen Tilton is to running an airline. ...Hulas Kanodia is to treating his employees. ...potassium is to mixing with water. :D Translation: Trying to drop and/or pick up time via CrewTrac is much more difficult than FLiCA. |

you could trip trade/drop request/add/swap/split pairings all online instead of having to fax like we are back to again. From my understanding, when we had it, scheduling was limited by how much information they were able to share in regards to the contract... yadda yadda ... denying request allegedly based upon no reasoning; not showing reserve coverage according to contract bla bla... so when ALPA requested to use FLICA like it was fully capable of, the company in short said "fine, you don't like it, then we are taking it away." |

It was actually pretty great compared to what we have right now.

Even Mesa was able to convince their Management to agree to 100% automated FLiCA in their new TA. I hope you Mesa guys take full advantage of that system. In short, FLiCA basically cuts out the middle man (aka crew scheduling). That way you don't have to deal with the likes of minimum wage morons. Our schedulers one redeeming quality: They speak English. Fluently. :D |
