People going or wanting to go Trans States

I keep hearing guys who are looking to "live the dream" on here discuss Trans States and upgrade time and other stuff about the company. Bottom line is this...

If you are looking for a quick upgrade, go somewhere else.

If you are looking to make a career at a regional, go somewhere else.

If you are looking build good quality 121 time, build your resume and fly with 90% cool captains, go to Trans States.

Great place to get on with low flight time, especially if it is an easy commute. But as many people told me, don't stay any longer than you have too. Guys in their first year won't know any better because you won't have anything to compare it to. I live in St. Louis and had no desire to commute. However, I was almost furloughed which is when I saw the light that said, "Not much future here", and that is when I decided to leave. Great job on management's projected forecast for the year after we didn't get the COEX flying. "Let's furlough 50 for two months to save around $120,000. The pilots won't leave because we treat them so well. But if they do leave, then we'll have to rehire and pay $20,000 for 30 - 60 new hires' training to make up for everyone who left! What a great idea! Call the flight managers and tell them to furlough tomorrow!!!" - TSA Mgmnt

Any low-time guys who want to pm, feel free. I hope this cleared up any false thoughts you guys had on what my main man Ed Phelps is telling you!

The Kool-Aid Man

And if anyone is looking for or knows anyone looking for a TSA uniform, PM me. 42R on the jacket and 34X34 on the pants.

I'll second that

I agree Koolaid. I worked for Hulas Kanodia's flying circus in the nineties. As soon as I got the magic 1,000 turbine PIC I was gone. They were just getting jets and I could have been a fancy jet captain but I left anyway. I wouldn't fly A380's for that scumbag. Get your time, get out. Just my $.02.

Kool-aid is right on. I got my training and got out (forced a little sooner than I had hoped but for the best).

I think Im keeping my uniform, heck I got it for free and used in on 3 trips!

i'm in the ground school currently, having a good ole' time doing some very boring and tedious stuff...first test this friday, so wish me luck, and best of luck to anyone else who's in the application/interview process. Our current class is 40, now 39...and the next one is supposed to be 25 more.

In one year at Trans States, I would have moved up about 10 spots in seniority from all of the furloughs and LOUSY DAY TO DAY DECISIONS MADE BY THE IDIOTS MANAGING OF THE AIRLINE (furloughs to hiring within one month!!!!) I have a guy from Mesa in class and the more I hear about Mesa, the more it sounds like Trans States!!! He was saying how scheduling would change their IN times so that they could stay legal for trips!!! It is honestly beginning to sound like Trans States is a SLIGHT step up from Mesa. At least the Trans States guys didn't sell themselves out to fly 70 seat airplanes, i.e. GoJet flying!!!

U. of I. guy, how did you get your uniform paid for?

Anyways, I wouldn't steer anyone away from going to Trans States, it really isn't that bad in the RIGHT SITUATION and you know what to expect going in. However, if you see what is going on with ASA, have fun dealing with that at Trans States! THREE people from my July 2005 class are left there after one. The only people leaving are the FO's, not the Captains. Just so you know that going in. And tell Ed "MY MAIN MAN" Phelps that the Kool Aid man sent you to drink the Kool Aid!!!

just noted today that jeniffer was asking people to pick numbers 1-39....and not 1-40 as she "originally" thought she would. Then heard the rumors of one missing...PM me, cause i don't know who u are.
