Wow. Any chance of de-escalating the schoolyard brawl, or maybe doing it via PM, in order to get back on track with factual information?

B. Commutair is still taking them from ExpressJet so you are still losing them so your are celebrating losing the airplanes to someone else?

A. We are still scheduled to receive the entire allotment of 36 aircraft by May. These are coming from the next batch that were rumored, but never announced.

CommutAir’s 40 ERJ-145s will be coming from ExpressJet as they come off contract. United has been shifting some of its ERJ-145s around to other operators such as TSA to help reduce costs, and this also helps ExpressJet, which has faced not only staffing challenges but other issues over the last year.

Like most news articles it is not correct. Yes some come from Expressjet but those are planes that were already slated to leave our fleet anyway. Some of these will be coming from you guys!

We took no joy in Xjet or Eagle losing planes to other carriers. Just the nature of this nasty industry. However, when the shoe is on the other foot, you guys (Eagle and Xjet) seem genuinely happy to see us losing planes. It's kinda sickening to see your true character in times like this. Incidentally, we are focusing on staffing the American side at the expense of the United side...it's more lucritive apparently. I'm sure United isn't happy about it.

Who wrote this? What issues is the writer referring to? And what supposed staffing challenges is the writer talking about? Here is what the president of xjt said: "As we’ve been discussing for some time, our business strategy has been to remove unprofitable flying so that we can prepare for and take advantage of profitable, sustainable opportunities that diversify our flying portfolio. We’ve been undergoing that transformation for a year now as we’ve expanded our American Eagle flying and returned unprofitable aircraft in our Delta and United operations. Those plans remain the same, and we’re continuing down a path of delivering our partners and customers with best-in-class performance and service. And we’re doing an outstanding job at it.
I bring this up because regional carrier CommutAir announced an expanded partnership with United for ERJ145 flying. ExpressJet’s fleet plan is not changed by CommutAir’s announcement. In fact, United is very much interested in having us fly everything that we’re able to crew." And here is what the MEC chairman said while alluding to ten of the ERJs: "Today, CommutAir announced that they will begin flying up to 40 EMB-145s for United Airlines in 2016. There is concern from the pilot group that these are LXJT aircraft, but that is not the case. Although at least 10 of these aircraft may be former LXJT 145s that have already been returned to United, our fleet size will not change because of this announcement."
