This past month most new hires are getting ORD. However, over the last six months it's been a mix of STL, ORD, DEN, and RDU. People have been bidding around within a few months of being on the line.

Would be easier if we ever actually knew what the temp was back there. It is either Hot, Really Hot or sub arctic temps. The ECS MFD temp indication is garbage and are never accurate.

Baby Overheats on Tarmac in DEN
I am wondering if we will ever get a company briefing over this incident. I have no clue about the particulars but it is summer again and that means No APU, deferred Packs and hot aircraft. I will be refusing aircraft in which I can not maintain a comfortable cabin and flight deck temp on the ground / air.

Do you need a memo to actually use your Captains authority? That's part of the reason why this incident happened to begin with.

Per a CP I spoke to during my upgrade a few years ago, when asked about this exact scenario: "If the PACK isn't keeping the cabin cool like it's supposed to, you need to write it up."

I dont need a memo to tell me how not to cause a passenger to pass out. Still, I would like to know the details of the case.

Did any information officially come out (non media)? I dont know about you, but I wasnt there.

A warm (hot) cabin is awfully subjective. A menopausal flight attendant saying its warm can mean a wide range of things. Its really too bad that the Temp indications on the MFD are not that representative of what is actually occurring. So we have to rely on FAs that arent that intelligent to provide us a picture of what is going on.

Im not saying the Captain was innocent here, just that untill something concrete comes out, we best not start acting like were all knowing and perfect.

An infant started having problems. Correlation does not mean causation. Has an official report been released on the infant. Maybe the kid had other issues. And again, how accurate detailed and timely was this information relayed to the captain?

All im saying is I want to see some official reports before I personally judge a situation. So again, did they come out and I missed it?

That doesn't answer anything. What about when you call that chief pilot and he tells you it's a legal deferral so go, are you going to search for a memo?
